HackNITR stands as the premier hackathon at NIT Rourkela, and it proudly holds the distinction of being one of the largest student-run hackathons in India. The primary objective behind orchestrating HackNITR is to foster the growth of our local community and offer hackers an unforgettable hacking experience. Our overarching ambition is to connect with as many hackers as possible, fostering inclusivity and actively supporting their engagement in activities that enhance their participation within our community. This event is meticulously organized by a dedicated team of tech enthusiasts hailing from the Google Developer Student Clubs (GDSC), NIT Rourkela. This collaboration extends to include OpenCode, an Open-Source community registered under the Technical Society of Student Activity Centre (SAC) at NIT Rourkela.

Building on the tremendous success of its three previous editions, HackNITR has been a significant achievement. The latest installment, HackNITR 4.0, drew participation from over 5300 individuals who proposed more than 330 projects. Encouraged by the desire to amplify the impact of our vision, we proudly present HackNITR 5.0, offering an outstanding platform for developers worldwide to exhibit their ideas and development skills. Our unwavering commitment to prioritizing a rich and rewarding experience is evident in the compelling statistics from our past endeavors.

Throughout the hackathon, we've hosted numerous workshops and mini-events featuring distinguished speakers, including industry leaders and prominent tech YouTubers. Notable personalities such as Michael Paulson, Senior Software Engineer at Netflix; Sanket Singh, SDE at Google and LinkedIn; and, Aditya Oberoi, Developer Advocate at Appwrite, Microsoft MVP, and Twilio Champion, provided profound insights into both technical and professional aspects of development. The sessions attracted an engaged audience of over 1000 individuals.
